Motorcycle Camping | The Dalesbridge Campsite | Review
Had an overnight camping trip to test out a new tent and could only manage a couple of days on this occasion, travelling to The Dalesbridge Campsite at Austwick, near Settle in North Yorkshire.
The weather forecast was was mixed with sun, rain and some freezing conditions expected and I wasn’t disappointed!
The campsite is located right on the border of the Forest of Bowland AONB
(Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so is perfect for motorcycling with excellent roads in every direction.
The campsite is set in 10 acres, comprising large tent camping fields, hard standing areas, electric hook ups, log cabins, bunkhouses and bed and breakfast accommodation. The facilities are very good, the showers are free, and there are wash up rooms.
There is also a seasonal bar on site and plans in place for a camp shop. The village of Austwick is 15 minutes walk and has a pub and village shop, along with the market town of Settle being about 5 miles away. The road to site is directly off a main road, the A65, and then within the site is tarmac and hard gravel.
On this trip I’m using a new ‘Stealth Tent’ the Mil-Tec Recom 1, details of which can be found here:
