Motorcycle Camping | Howstean Gorge Campsite | Review
A Motorcycle Camping trip in late January took me to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The weather forecast was was dry but cold, with some freezing conditions expected and I strayed at HowStean Gorge Campsite, which also turned out to be an Adventure Centre.
in the Nidderdale AONB (Area of Outstanding Beauty)
The location is ideal for motorcycling, being within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and there are superb roads over the Moors and withing the Dales, and despite it being winter I manage to get some riding done.
The campsite is a reasonably size, comprising mostly tent camping but with some smaller campervans also staying. The facilities are very good, the showers are free, with quality fittings, including heated shower floors and a wash up room.
There is also a cafe on site, the staff being very nice, as is the bacon buns and coffee. The nearest shop, other than a limited site shop, is 7 miles down the valley at Pateley Bridge.
The road to the site is directly off a country road and then within the site is hard compacted tarmac and gravel.
On this trip I’m using a Naturehike Cloud Up2 tent and a review of this can be found here:
